Liposuction is a special type of cosmetic surgery in that significant changes can be made through a tiny incision. Liposuction procedures can range from small minor cases where a laser or ultrasound is used, to large cases where several body areas are recontoured at one time. For example, just this week we had a patient that was in good shape and worked out regularly, but just had a little excess fat in the hip region which we recontoured in a simple minor procedure. On the same day, we performed a major liposuction case where the abdomen, inner and outer thighs, and arms were all recontoured at one time to make a significant change.
