It is extremely important to tailor a facelift procedure to fit the individual patient. Many patients may do well with what is called a mini-facelift (S-lift, weekend facelift). Typically, these patients have minor drooping of the neck and jowls, which requires a smaller procedure that will incur less healing time and a lower cost. However, if a patient has a very heavy neck, jowls, or cheeks, then a full facelift should be performed. Liposuction is a special type of cosmetic surgery in that significant changes can be made through a tiny incision. Liposuction procedures can range from small minor cases where a laser or ultrasound is used, to large cases where several body areas are recontoured at one time. For example, just this week we had a patient that was in good shape and worked out regularly, but just had a little excess fat in the hip region which we recontoured in a simple minor procedure.
